Stan Cohen, Creative Director, brings a wealth of pioneering experience to this exciting and dynamic field. He has been associated with some of the leading electronic graphics companies including Digital Effects (New York City), Advanced Technology Systems (Fair Lawn, NJ), Omnibus/Abel (New York City), Empire Video (New York City) and Intelligent Light (Fair Lawn, NJ).

Stan was the driving force to get NJCreatives.org onto the Web starting in 1995 by forming a committee of eight members and organization officers.  He subsequently designed and implemented the website for the organization which went online the first quarter 1996. Stan has produced on-line web portfolios for more than 35 members as well as 25 websites for members' own businesses. As former President for the organization (2003-2007), Stan currently serves on its Board of Directors in the position as Webmaster.

He studied Industrial Design at the University of Cincinnati, earning his Bachelor of Science in Design. It was during course work there that he was exposed to programming with FORTRAN, followed by an introduction to computer-aided drafting. While taking an Introduction to Film course, he decided to combine the two disciplines. Cohen went on to pursue Independent Studies and Advanced Film courses in the area of computer-assisted animations.

He has exhibited his computer graphic illustrations and animations at five of the annual Siggraph conventions (Special Interest Group of Computer Graphics of the ACM/Association of Computing Machinery) held in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Detroit, Dallas and Boston.

Cohen's computer graphics imagery has been used as illustrations in a variety of magazines including: Art Direction, American Way, Computer Pictures, Millimeter, Science, Computer Graphics World, Cinefx, Broadcast Management/Engineering, Science Digest, GQ, Upper & Lower Case, Creative Computing, Parade, and Post. Books in which Cohen's images have been published include: The Computer Image, Computer Images - State of the Art, Digital Imaging, Computer Graphics for Designers and Artists, The Joy of Computer Animation, and Computer Animation Primer. His animations have appeared on CBS, NBC, ABC, WPIX, TNN, ESPN, MSG and Manhattan Teleprompter, as well as on many television commercials.

He was selected to exhibit as one of fourteen photographers in Photosearch II at the Bergen Museum of Art and Science in Paramus, New Jersey from July to September 1994.

From early 1992 to 2000, Stan regularly did figure drawing at the Ridgewood Art Institute. He used this to counter balance the hours of computer-based work and to keep his ‘eye’ tuned into structure, form, light, shade, shadow and the expression of the human figure.
